Voices from the Nuclear Age”

Our annual Remembrance of the Nuclear Bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Japan

Sunday, August 9, 2026

We gathered for this special event to remember some of the many courageous voices who have spoken TRUTH TO POWER, reminding us why nuclear weapons must never be used again..

Friends and neighbors brought to life the pivotal figures of Leo Szilard, Daniel Ellsberg, Ava Helen Pauling, the Greenham Common Women’s Peace Camp, Stanislav Petrov, Helen Caldicott, and Joan Baez.

It was a thoughtful, moving, and inspired performance—one that honored the voices of those who have challenged us to confront the dangers of nuclear weapons and work toward a more peaceful future.

Those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it. – Winston Churchill

About Prescott Peacebuilders

Don't ask yourself what the world needs… ask what makes YOU come alive. And then go and do that. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.

Prescott Peacebuilders: 10+ Years of Inspired Action and Connection

We believe and practice that strength comes from community and that by working together, we are better able to keep our energy focused on the values we live by.

We are a spirited group of women and men guided by the call to “follow your bliss,” a phrase made famous by mythologist and teacher Joseph Campbell. Campbell is one of the many wisdom keepers who inspire us, alongside voices like Joanna Macy, the Dalai Lama, activist Valarie Kaur, and theologian Joan Chittister.

Though we come from different perspectives, we are united by a shared dedication to peace, justice, and creative expression of heart and mind.

Let’s bring neighbors together.
Come one, come all… and bring a friend!

Our activities reflect our passions and talents. Over the years, we’ve hosted a variety of events, including speaker engagements, music events, storytelling circles, conversations on how to stay in balance with resilience and creative power, gratitude and non-violent practices, film viewings and discussions. All activities are designed to uplift, educate, and connect.
