About Prescott Peacebuilders
“Peacemaking doesn’t mean passivity. It is the act of interrupting injustice without mirroring injustice, the act of disarming evil without destroying the evildoer, the act of finding a third way that is neither fight nor flight but the careful, arduous pursuit of reconciliation and justice. It is about a revolution of love that is big enough to set the oppressed and the oppressors free.”

Inspired Action and Connection
We believe and practice that strength comes from community and that by working together, we are better able to keep our energy focused on the values we live by.
Prescott Peacebuilders are a spirited group of women and men guided by the call to “follow your bliss,” a phrase made famous by mythologist and teacher Joseph Campbell. Campbell is one of the many wisdom keepers who inspire us, alongside voices like Joanna Macy, the Dalai Lama, Michael Meade, activist Valarie Kaur, and theologian Joan Chittister.
Though we come from different perspectives, we are united by a shared dedication to peace, justice, and creative expression of heart and mind.
Partnerships are key. We have worked with local organizations, such as The Launch Pad Teen Center, the MLK Peace and Justice Committee, and Prescott Indivisible, to promote positive community interactions. We are aligned with Prescott’s Coalition for Compassion and Justice, a recent working relationship that enables us to receive donations.
Don't ask yourself what the world needs… ask what makes you come alive. And then go and do that. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.

We have our own way of making events happen. Our individual creative pursuits guide and inspire us. Then we buzz around in support of a plan to make it happen.

– SPECIAL EVENT –
Community Concert and U.N. International Day of Peace
Sunday, September 21, 2025
12:45 pm to 4:15 pm
Granite Creek Park, 554 6th Street, Prescott, AZ
This year, we’re blending two favorite events into one joyful afternoon:
Our annual Community Peace Concert — a free, family-friendly celebration featuring local musicians, under the shade trees at Granite Creek Park. Bring a picnic, sit on the grass, and soak in the music.
A celebration of the U.N. International Day of Peace, including lots of great music, a reading of the Prescott City Peace Day proclamation, poetry from local schoolchildren, and a collective call to honor the process of peace. Bring the family! Your children will enjoy the craft table. Bid on the lovely one-of-a-kind Quilt. Bring a picnic, friends, and enjoy the day!
Can you believe it? We have been around for 10 years! A whole decade of building community, expressing our creativity, and engaging in positive action.
Join us on September 21, as we honor the journey. Let’s stir up a little bit of magic.
Prescott Peacebuilders proudly look back at our accomplishments and ask, how may we grow and be of service to Prescott and our surrounding neighbors?
As of July 2025, Prescott Peacebuilders is pleased to announce a new relationship with Prescott’s Coalition for Compassion and Justice as our fiscal agent. Prescott Peacebuilders now qualifies as a 501(c)(3). This means that we can accept tax-deductible donations!
In many ways, the goals of Peacebuilders and CCJ align. We are proud to be affiliated with them, and we are gratified that they believe in us as well.
